The 18-hole course at Paultons is a parkland course that combines generous fairways and woodland scenery to deliver a fun and satisfying challenge for golfers of all abilities. The greens are USGA spec, which means they roll true and drain brilliantly all-year-round. The trick on this beautiful course has traditionally been to make your score on the front nine and then hang on tight over the back nine, as the trees come more into play.
However, the club has been investing across all areas of the business in the past 9 months, including the widening of the fairways to make some of the tee-shots a little less daunting. The 11th is notable for its idyllic approach to the green, downhill, funneling in between oaks and pines to an undulating green. A 344 yard par 4, it doglegs right with out of bounds down the right hand side to make you think twice about cutting any corners. The smart tee shot is a long iron or 3 wood to leave a 150 yard approach to the green, which is slightly raised and falls away to the front, back and right.
