Having originally been founded at Goathland in 1892 Whitby Golf Club has been located in this stunning clifftop location between Whitby and Sandsend since 1895. There are wonderful views along the coast between Kettleness and the iconic Whitby Abbey and views inland towards the rolling North York Moors. Wherever you are on the course you are guaranteed a view of the sea!
It is the ideal type of course for all levels of golfers, as it is neither too long nor difficult, but don't be fooled! Whatever your handicap you need to be accurate on all holes to avoid some of the more interesting hazards. The fairways may look wide and forgiving, but wayward shots can be severely punished. The most striking feature is the Upgang Ravine which has to be driven when playing the 6th and 18th holes.
